  • The latest in a long line of pure driving machines, this all-new 911 GT3 is equipped with a naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre six-cylinder which develops 510PS and 470Nm of maximum torque allowing the driver to accelerate from 0-100km/h in a surprising 3.4 seconds.

This engine works its magic with a standard 7-speed PDK and provides this 911 GT3 with a top speed of 320km/h. This allows this GT3 to be a little faster than the previous 911 GT3 RS.

In case you were wondering, the 2018 model GT3 RS had 520PS and also 470Nm of torque which allowed it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds (0.2 seconds faster which most drivers will never be able to feel the difference) and reach a top speed of 312km/h which is 8km/h slower which most drivers will not be able to find the available open road to try.

Malaysian buyers can configure their 911 GT3 with a 6-speed manual GT sports gearbox, or opt for the GT3 Touring Package at no additional cost.

Porsche Malaysia will sell you this Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring Package with prices starting from RM1,766,244.00 with the current SST exemption in place and we are told that almost all of the first batch is taken up. Deliveries will only start some time in the first half of 2020 and after this article is published, it will probably be sold out for 2022.

This is a true road-legal GT race car that has a lot of elements straight from Porsche motorsports. For the first time, the car features a double-wishbone front suspension layout taken from the Le Mans-winning 911 RSR race car, with specific geometry and calibration changing the car’s turn-in behavior and allowing for sure-footed agility on the racetrack.

This GT3 has sophisticated aerodynamics starting with a swan-neck rear wing mounting and a striking diffuser shared from the 911 RSR Both these features allow for approximately 50 percent more downforce than before without affecting the drag coefficient.

The manually-adjustable rear wing and diffuser elements can also be set to increase aerodynamic downforce by up to massive 150 percent to assist drivers in managing higher cornering speeds.

The motorsports elements continue with the revised flat-six boxer engine which is capable of revving effortlessly up to 9,000rpm. This engine borrows its capabilities from the 911 GT3 R, which has been tried and tested in recent endurance race events around the world.

Weighing in at just 1,418kg for the manual version and slightly more for the 7-speed PDK version at 1,435kg this new GT3 has many weight saving features.

Porsche engineers have made extensive use of lightweight materials starting with the front bonnet and rear wing which are made from the carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), the windows are made from lightweight glass and the starter battery is a small LiFePO4 unit.

In addition, forged lightweight wheels and a sports exhaust system are responsible for a 10 kilogram weight saving.

The cabin of this GT3 takes its cues from the RS. The cockpit is designed in line with the current Porsche 992, but the GT3 cluster features a central rev counter, which goes up to 10,000rpm, flanked by two high-resolution 7.0-inch displays featuring the new track screen.

This feature allows the driver to simplify the digital displays to prioritize vital track information such as tyre pressure, oil pressure, oil temperature and fuel tank level at the touch of a button. It also includes a visual shift assistant with coloured bars to the left and right of the rev counter and a shift light to facilitate more accurately-timed gear changes.

Like all Porsche 992, the infotainment in the 911 GT3 is centered on a high-resolution 10.9-inch touchscreen display featuring the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with online navigation and Porsche Connect Plus. This system also supports the Porsche Track Precision App, which helps drivers maximize their track sessions and improve lap times by providing detailed driving data, including live displays and video analyses.

This new 911 GT3 is available for pre-order at all Porsche Centres nationwide and it's going fast.
