Perodua Malaysia officially launched the 20222 Perodua Myvi on 18th November 2021. This mid-life facelift to Malaysia’s best-seller came four years after the G3 Myvi was showcased in 2017. Since 2015, Perodua has sold around 1.3 million units of the five-door hatch, of this total, the third-gen model contributed 277,329 units.

Enough about the past, we are here to discuss the new Myvi that is accompanied by the tagline ‘The Next Standard’. When we first heard this new tagline, the first thing that came to mind was the five-door hatch from Perodua would raise the bar of the standard feature list offered in the segment. Dimension & weight
The dimensions remain the same for all the new Myvi models i.e., it measures 3,895 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height.
Luggage and fuel tank capacity also remain the same for all four Myvi variants, 277-litre and 36-litre, respectively.
The turning radius for the 1.3 G model is 4.8 meters, for the rest, it sits at 5.1 meters.
The kerb weight for the base 1.3 G is 985 kg, for the other three Myvi models, it accelerates to 1,010 kg, 1020 kg, and 1025 kg.
Engine
As can be seen from the variant name, the new Myvi is offered in two engine options - 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre. Only the base 1.3 G model is powered by a 1,329 cc 1NR-VE, DOHC with Dual VVT-i mill that pumps out a maximum power of 94 hp at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 121 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The X, H, and AV variants are powered by a 1,496 cc DOHC with VVT-i engine making 102 hp at 6,000 rpm and 136 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Both powertrains are equipped with Eco Idle auto start-stop.
According to Perodua, fuel consumption with Eco-driving for the 1.3 G model rests at 22.2 kmpl and for the rest, it is 21.1 kmpl.
Chassis
Available as standard is an electric power steering wheel. While the base model runs on 14-inch alloys, the other three variants get 15-inch alloy units.
Exterior
The standard feature kit on the outside includes - LED headlamps with Auto ON-OFF and Follow-me-home function, and manual leveling, metallic silver grille, and electric side mirrors with LED indicators.

On the inside, offered as standard fitment are -

Safety
Perodua Myvi’s standard safety kit includes - four airbags, ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill-start Assist, ISOFIX system with top tether, and auto-locking and unlocking door.
Also, part of the new Myvi’s standard safety kit is Perodua Smart Driver Assist that includes - Advanced Safety Assist (A.S.A.), Driver Assist, Parking Assist, and Headlamp Assist. Part of A.S.A is - Pre-collision Warning, Pre-collision Braking, Front Departure Alert, and Pedal Misoperation Control. The standard Driving Assist includes Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention functions. As for the standard Parking Assist and Headlamp Assist functions it gets a rear corner sensor and auto high beam.
Colour options
The new Myvi is offered in six colour options - Cranberry red, Electric Blue, Granite Grey, Lava Red, Ivory White, and Glittering Silver. While the new Cranberry Red hue is limited to the range-topping AV model, the 1.3 G is not available in Granite Grey splash.
Accessories
New Myvi’s standard accessory kit includes a carpet mat, registration plate holder, and a safety triangle.
