New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport video details the information!

Kuala Lumpur: After much anticipation and several spy images later, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has officially revealed the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport mid-size SUV video on its Facebook page. However, we may have to wait for some more time before this new SUV reaches our shores.

Sales in Thailand of this Mitsubishi Pajero would commence from this fall while MMC plans to introduce the all-new Pajero Sport sequentially in Australia, the ASEAN nations, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia and, as with its predecessor, to sell the new model in some 90 countries.

There have been several leaks and teasers in the past, but the Japanese car-maker has kept specific details under wraps. In what is seen as the first official trailer of the all-new 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, impressive design, muscular look, refined lines and a complete overhaul is in the projection for the new car.

As for the new Pajero Sport's engine specifications, it will get both petrol and diesel configurations. According to Overdrive, the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV, equipped with 2.4-litre 4-cylinder MIVEC turbo-diesel, will generate a total power output of 181 HP and 430 Nm of peak torque as seen in the Thai-market Triton (Malaysia gets an upgraded version of the old 2.5-litre VGT). The diesel engine is said to produce 178 PS power and 430 Nm torque and come in 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission.

The Pajero Sport 2016 model teased in the official video shows the MMC’s Super Select 4WD-II system that allows for shift on the fly from the default rear-wheel drive to 4WD. The turning radius is a good 5.6 metres. In addition, the Mitsubishi Pajero is said to come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

The Pajero Sport has been crafted with Mitsubishi's latest design language that include a more masculine body, heavily carved front end, accentuated wheel arches and dynamic styling. Talking about the dimensions, the new Pajero Sport is now 90 mm longer at 4785 mm and 35 mm shorter at 1805 mm, while the width and wheelbase remains the same at 1815 mm and 2800 mm respectively.

The interiors of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been restyled with a higher center console along with silver accents on it. It has been integrated with a 4 spoke steering wheel with auto and cruise controls embossed on it. Also featuring is the new central multi-information display with a high contrast instrument cluster. Apart from that, the placement of air vents is also revised to provide better comfort to its occupants.

The video also features some tech function equipped within 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, which includes an electronic parking brake, multi around monitor system (bird’s eye for parking), blind spot warning, forward collision mitigation and Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System.

All these features packed in the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport make the SUV's profile pretty impressive and make it a tough competitor to other SUV's in the segment. In short, Pajero Sport stands strong in front of the Ford Everest, Isuzu MU-X and the market-leading new Toyota Fortuner.
