Neta’s Thailand facility to export Neta X in Malaysia and other ASEAN markets

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese EV brand Neta, owned by Hozon Auto, established its first overseas factory in Thailand last November. The initial model assembled at the Thai facility was the Neta V-II, which has recently been joined by the Neta X, as reported by CarNewsChina.

The Neta X made in Thailand will be sold locally and exported to Malaysia. However, the first batch of EVs will be fully imported from China before production begins in the overseas factory.

Notably, the Neta production plant in Thailand has an annual capacity of 20,000 units, it will export cars not only to Malaysia but also to other ASEAN markets including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam.

As a quick recap, the Neta X is offered in three variants in Malaysia - 400 Comfort, 400 Luxury, and 500 Luxury, priced between RM 119,888 and RM 135,888. 

All variants come equipped with a front-wheel drive electric motor capable of generating a maximum power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 210 Nm. The EV runs from zero to 100 kmph in less than 9.5 seconds and attains a top speed of 150 kmph.

The Neta X comes in two battery options - 51.8 kWh and 62 kWh. The ‘400’ variants are equipped with the smaller unit providing a range of up to 401 km while the top-spec 500 Luxury trim houses the bigger unit that lets the EV cruise up to 480 km on a single charge.

Equipment kit comprises - LED headlights and tail lights, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, a 360-degree camera, eight speakers, 6-way power-adjustable front seats, wireless charging, six airbags, adaptive cruise control with intelligent cruise assist, and several other advanced driver-assistance systems.

Neta Malaysia offers a 5-year/100,000-km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/180,000-km battery warranty on the purchase of the Neta X.
