Neta X electric SUV launched in Malaysia; price begins at RM 119,888

KUALA LUMPUR: First previewed at the 2024 Malaysia Autoshow, the Neta X has now officially landed on Malaysian shores.  It is the second electric vehicle introduced by Neta, a Chinese brand owned by Hozon New Energy Automobile, following the launch of the Neta V.

The official distributor of Neta EVs in Malaysia, Intro Synergy, offers the Neta X in three variants, priced as follows -

In terms of dimensions, the Neta X measures 4,619 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,628 mm in height and spans a 2,770 mm wheelbase. The boot space is estimated at 508 litres, which is expandable up to 1,388 litres with the rear seats folded.

All variants of the Neta X are powered by a front-mounted electric motor that kicks out a maximum power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 210 Nm. It enables the EV to run from zero to 100 kmph in less than 9.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 150 kmph.

As for the battery, the Neta X comes in two options - 51.8 kWh and 62 kWh. The lower-spec or ‘400’ models are equipped with the smaller unit offering a driving range of up to 401 km (on the NEDC cycle). The range-topping 500 Luxury variant, on the other hand, comes with a 62-kWh pack that lets the EV cruise up to 480 km on a single charge.

Speaking of the charging time, the smaller battery takes a total of nine hours while the bigger unit takes eleven hours for 0-100% SoC when using a 6.6 kW AC charger. However, the Neta X also supports fast charging with up to 65 kW DC, allowing the battery to juice up from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The Neta X has a sleek and dynamic design with sculpted aerodynamics and distinctive LED headlights and tail lights. Other key standard highlights include - LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, auto-folding side mirrors, a roof rack, and rear fog lamps. With the higher-spec models, the customers also get a powered tailgate.

The Neta X colour palette comprises five striking options - Pearl White, Jet Black, Sky Grey, Glacier Blue, and Amber Brown.

Inside the cabin, the EV comes fitted with several creature comforts, including -

As for safety, the Chinese EV comes packed with six airbags, an anti-lock braking system, emergency brake force distribution, brake assist, traction control, cruise control, hill descent control, hill start assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. 

However, the Neta X Luxury trims are loaded with several advanced driver-assistance features, ensuring the safety of passengers as well as other road users. The list includes -  adaptive cruise control with intelligent cruise assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change assist, door opening warning, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist.

On the purchase of the Neta X, Intro Synergy offers a 5-year/100,000-km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/180,000-km battery warranty.
