More information on upcoming next-gen Triton pickup revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: The next-gen Mitsubishi Triton pickup has been making headlines for quite some time now with the company revealing its official debut date a few days back, i.e., 26th July 2023. Back then the information about Mitsubishi’s upgraded pickup was based on the set of teaser images revealed by the automaker.

Mechanical details about the all-new Mitsubishi Triton are still under wraps, However, the engine powering the next-gen Triton will boast “improved environmental performance by significantly reducing friction loss while achieving higher output”.In those images was visible an imposing front fascia with a robust grille with horizontal bars and a raised bonnet, and headlight & taillight with a new T-shaped signature design. As for the cabin, the images confirmed quite a few elements, including a free-standing big touchscreen display, aircraft-like buttons on the central console, a digital panel for the automatic air-conditioning system, a rotary dial for the 4WD system, and a Drive Mode selector.

Now, thanks to the recently published ‘Engineering Teaser’ video by the brand we have to ourselves a new set of information about the upcoming Triton. For instance,
- The new Triton will feature an all-new ladder frame chassis along with a new ‘clean diesel’ power plant
- The vehicle will feature a double wishbone suspension up front, paired with leaf springs for the rear. The setup is said to be newly developed to deliver good riding comfort along with excellent driving performance
- The engine powering the next-gen Triton will boast “improved environmental performance by significantly reducing friction loss while achieving higher output”
- As for styling, the pickup will showcase a completely redesigned exterior and interior
Like before, mechanical details about the all-new Mitsubishi Triton are still under wraps, however, if rumors are to be believed, the pickup will get a revised version of the 4N16 unit which currently powers the next-gen Nissan Urvan NV350.
