What does the new Mitsubishi Triton teaser reveal?
The teaser reveals a darkened image of the upcoming Triton variant, sprayed with a white paint scheme and some red decals. When will the new variant launch?
The new variant of the Mitsubishi Triton is expected to launch soon. While the automaker remained tight-lipped about the details of the upcoming Triton, the dark teaser does drop a few hints. To begin with, the teased model is part of the current generation of the pickup, indicating that Malaysians will have to wait longer for the next-gen version introduced in Thailand last July.
The upcoming Triton is sprayed with a white paint scheme and has some red decals across the truck bed for a contrast effect. This combination reminds us of the Triton Ralliart edition revealed by the automaker in early 2022. The vehicle also features a black front grille with a thin chrome strip and a red front bumper guard, just like the Triton Phantom Plus Edition released in August 2022. Considering all of this, it is reasonable to anticipate that the upcoming model might be the final special edition before the next-generation version reaches local shores.
The new variant is expected to launch soon as the caption reads “A new face of adventure is almost here.”
Speaking of the existing variants of the Mitsubishi Triton, the pickup is offered in 4x4 and 4x2 configurations. The 4x4 lineup comprises five trims - Athlete, A/T Premium, M/T Premium, A/T and M/T. The price ranges between RM 155,900 and RM 110,000. The Triton 4x2, on the other hand, comes in a sole variant, the Quest M/T, priced at RM 86,390.
All the variants of the Triton 4x4 come powered by a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbo diesel DI-D Common Rail VGT that makes a maximum power of 181 PS at 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 430 Nm at 2,500 rpm. Powering the Quest 4x2 is a 2.5-litre DI-D Common Rail Turbocharged unit good for making 110 PS at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm.
