Mitsubishi Malaysia brings new Triton VGT AT Premium and Triton Adventure X
KUALA LUMPUR: MMM (Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia) unveiled the facelifted Triton Quest at the Central i-City Mall on Thursday. Besides, it also showcased the newest versions of the range-topping Triton VGT AT Premium and Triton Adventure X with improved specifications.
Equipment-wise, the Triton Adventure X comes with a lot of new additions, including a dashcam, side body stickers, solar/security tint, and an all-round monitor. On the other hand, the Triton VGT AT Premium comes with some new features like a seven-inch touchscreen head-unit having Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, the dashcam, and leather seats.
The updated Triton range is equipped with a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 181 PS along with a peak torque is at 430 Nm. It is the six-speed automatic gearbox that takes care of the transmission option while there is a six-speed manual gearbox option too.
A new off-road mode is present in both the Triton VGT AT Premium and Triton Adventure X. The mode contains four presets, including gravel, mud, sand, and rock. The engine power, braking, and transmission will be optimized after choosing a mode, which would help to maximize the off-road performance. The car also comes with a hill descent control. The HDC and Off-Road Mode buttons are present just behind the 4WD rotary knob.
Talking about the pricing, when both of them were launched in January 2019, they came with a price tag of RM 118,600 and RM 135,200, respectively. However, the current pricing for both models is RM 121,000 and RM 137,900, respectively, excluding the insurance charges. If compared to the previous pricing, they are now costlier by RM2,400 and RM2,700, respectively.
In the early 2019 update, the safety department of the Triton lineup is improved. The Triton Adventure X now comes with seven airbags, FCM (Forward Collision Mitigation), RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert), BSW with LCA (Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist), UMS (Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System), and AHB (Auto High Beam).
