Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 Coupe Spied in Putrajaya
Kuala Lumpur: The latest one to appear on the streets of Putrajaya is the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 Coupe. While it was being tested, some photographers managed to capture its spy shots as well. This hints towards Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's plans to bring a new range of SUV's next year. One can expect a local launch soon as the car is already being tested by the Road Transport Department (RTD). Based on the W166 ML, this car was previewed by the Concept Coupe that made a debut at the Beijing Auto Show last year.
Under the hood, the base petrol variant dubbed as GLE 400 is integrated with a 3.0-litre direct-injected biturbo V6 engine that generates 333 hp and 480 Nm of torque from 1400 rpm. This is the same engine which was employed in W212 E 400. Further, it is mated with a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission and also features 4Matic all-wheel drive.

Towards the exterior, it gets brand's sportier AMG Line exterior kit. The front fascia gets elongated headlights along with a rounder grille and large three-pointed star inset. One can also notice a low-slung roofline along with fast windscreen rake and a sloping rear hatch. The rear end seems to be inspired by S-Class Coupe as there are slim tail lights which are joined together by a chrome bar. Overall, it features a more aggressive body which can be identified by the side slits on the rear bumper.
