Meet the new one-off Lamborghini art car, the Aventador S
KUALA LUMPUR: while back, Lamborghini launched the Aventador SVJ Xago - a limited edition car exclusively for customers using the automaker's virtual Ad Personam Studio. Now, Tokyo has its own permanent Ad Personam studio based at the company's new retail venue called 'The Lounge'. Before Tokyo, the automaker opened such a type of retail venue in New York, allowing customers to fully customize their supercar's inside-out.
Coming back to 'The Lounge Tokyo', its inauguration was done in style with the showcasing of the Lamborghini Aventador S. This one-off art car's eye-catching livery is created by the automaker in collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto, a Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris.
Yamamoto said, “With their inimitable design, Lamborghini super sports cars are more instantly recognizable than any other car manufacturer – just one glance is enough. I am delighted to see the realization of this collaboration, highlighting the uniqueness, the timelessness, and the abundant passion, which are characteristic of both our brands,”
The car features different shades of red with black and white accents all over, inspired by Yamamoto's Paris clothing collection. The cabin benefits from a similar colour scheme with the artist's signature covering the dashboard, door panels, seats, and centre console.
Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini's Head of Design said, "It has been exciting to have the chance to work with Yohji Yamamoto, the world-renowned fashion icon, who innately understood our significant Lamborghini design DNA. Our collaboration inspired this outstanding artwork and design for the Aventador S, which was unveiled today, and celebrates Italian craftsmanship connecting with Japanese culture."
The custom one-off Lamborghini Aventador S was manufactured at the company's Centro Stile and is approved by Mitja Borkert who met Yamamoto during the 2020 Paris Fashion Week.
Powering this beautiful beast is a 6.5-litre V12 mill making a maximum power of 740 PS and a peak torque of 690 Nm. Sending power to all four wheels is a seven-speed transmission. On the performance side, the Aventador S goes from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds, while attaining a top speed of 350 kmph.
