Meet the Ford Ranger Platinum, the pickup’s new luxury-oriented variant
KUALA LUMPUR: Ford has introduced a new range-topping version of its best-selling Ranger pickup in Europe, called the Ranger Platinum. The new member of the ute’s wide range features exclusive exterior detailing and finishes further enhancing its striking design. It is teamed up with a stylish and contemporary leather-trimmed cabin and a new powertrain.

The Ford Ranger Platinum is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine borrowed from the F-150, which produces 240 PS of power and 600 Nm of torque.“The Ford Ranger has set the standard for performance, versatility, and capability in the pickup segment, and now it’s setting the standard for luxury. Here are the key highlights of the all-new Ford Ranger Platinum -
- The new variant comes in n five-seat, double-cab specification and sits above the Wildtrak, which accounted for 60% of previous Ranger sales in the Old Continent
- It sets a new standard for luxury in the segment with sophisticated design touches such as LED daytime running lights, Matrix LED headlight clusters, 20-inch machined-face wheels, full LED tail-lights, a new radiator grille, soft-close tailgate, privacy glass, and a black roof
- Inside, the customers can enjoy quilted leather seat upholstery, 10-way powered front seats with ventilation and heating function, a driver seat with memory feature, a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, a heated steering wheel, a more sophisticated ambient interior lighting, a 10-speaker B&O premium stereo and new floor mats
- Confirming the identity of the new top-spec Ranger is ‘PLATINUM' badges inside and out
- It is powered by Ford’s 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine borrowed from the F-150, which produces 240 PS of power and 600 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the new electronically controlled full-time all-wheel drive system with a 10-speed automatic transmission
- Over and above the comprehensive advanced driver assistance systems available on Ranger Wildtrak, the new Platinum benefits from Active Park Assist with Park Out Assist, Lane Change Warning & Aid, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage, and a 360-degree camera as standard
The bookings for the new luxury-oriented Ranger Platinum are now open in Europe with deliveries scheduled to begin in May 2023.
