2023 Cadillac Lyriq engine -

The Lyriq will be offered in a single-motor RWD guise. It will pack a 100 kWh battery pack that will churn out a maximum power of 340 hp and a peak torque of 440 Nm. On a full charge, it will deliver a range of 480 km.

As for its charging details, from a 10 minute 190 kW DC charge it can go for 121 km, however, from an hour worth of power from a 19.2 kW unit at 240 V AC it can for an estimated 83 km. Further, an hour worth 11.5 kW AC charge offers a 50 km range, a 120V yields 5.6 km from the same charge period.

The automaker’s Regen-on-Demand tech aids efficiency. It includes one-pedal driving and enables the driver to choose the rate of regenerative deceleration that helps in recuperating energy at low speed.

Braking duties are handled by 321 mm disc brakes at the front and 345 mm disc at the rear. On the suspension front is a 5-link unit at both ends.

The Cadillac EV’s production will commence in Q1 of 2022 at GM’s Spring Hill plant, Tennessee. It will first go on sale in North America and is priced at US $59,990 (approx, RM 246,108).
