McLaren Elva now a 149 unit limited car
KUALA LUMPUR: McLaren Elva is going to arrive soon. This one is an ultra-rear $1.7 million hyper roadster with no windows and roof. Originally, the company planned to build 399 units of the car, but due to the pandemic, the number came down to 249 in April and now 149. Thus, making the Elva one of the rarest McLarens out there.

However, for its 149 customers, McLaren has made the deal a lot more fun by allowing them to customise the car to a great extent, including colour scheme, material, etc. McLaren Special Operations (MOS) department is assigning 'Visualisation Specialists' and 'Bespoke Liaison Manager' to co-ordinate with the Elva buyers in the customisation process. A new McLaren Advanced Visualiser (MAV) tool has been created to avoid all types of personal contact between MSO and client.
The MAV will provide exceptionally realistic results using the ultra-HD resolution rendering to showcase unique customisation options. The capability of the software can be judged via the images seen in this article itself.
Further, via the MAV, customers can choose cabin material, open/close door, get under the car to know about the suspension & aerodynamics, and enter the car. McLaren is offering a variety of material options to the buyers, including Ultrafabric, a weather-resistant fabric perfect for cars with no roof.
Two design concepts offering an incredible range of visual appeal - Explore and Timeless, are available to the buyers. The former evokes a 'spirit of adventure' with themes like Synergy, Electrify, Intensify, Magma, and Kinetic. The latter, as suggested by its name, offers more laid back themes like Purity, Artisan, Jetset, and Equinox.
The automaker is also offering racing liveries options like MSO M1A and M6A to the customers. While the former is painted in black with a Magnesium Silver racing strip with the number 4, the latter comes with an orange paint scheme, replicating the 1967 McLaren Can-Am icon.
That's all on McLaren's second rarest modern car; for more such auto-updates, stay tuned with Zigwheels Malaysia.
