KUALA LUMPUR: Globally revealed in March 2022, the Mazda CX-60 has now made its way to the Southeast Asia market, with the Philippines being the first country in the region to welcome this highly anticipated SUV. The CX-60 is a full-size, five-seater SUV that falls under the brand’s Large Product group, which also includes the CX-80, CX-70, and CX-90.

    • The 3.3L AWD Turbo-D Sport gets energy from a 3.3-litre turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine generating 251 hp at 3,750 rpm and 550 Nm between 1,500-2,400 rpm

    However, what’s common in both mills is a 48V mild-hybrid system comprising a 0.33-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Furthermore, they are mated to the same 8-speed automatic transmission paired with a rear-biased i-Activ AWD drivetrain. The latter supports the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select system, which offers four driving modes - Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Towing.

    In terms of dimensions, the Mazda CX-60 measures 4,745 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. The boot space is measured at 570 litres.

    Parts of the SUV’s safety net are - seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, rear and front cross traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane keep assist, and driver attention system.

    Will the Mazda CX-60 come to Malaysia?

    Well, no official confirmation has yet been given on the CX-60 launch in Malaysia. However, in the light of the fact that all right-hand-drive Mazda cars are offered in Malaysia, we can expect its arrival sooner or later.
