Maserati MC20’s new cover makes it look more unique

KUALA LUMPUR: Back in September, Maserati unveiled its first supercar in 15 years which signifies the Italian automaker’s return to racing. It is an evolution of the iconic MC12 and has been developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena over the past two years. Undoubtedly, the MC20 sets new standards in terms of innovation, style as well as performance, and now here comes an all-new accessory for the sports car that will make it more attractive on the roads.

Maserati Genuine Accessories is in the process of creating a car cover for the MC20 with the same camouflage design as we saw in the model’s development phase. This targets the group of customers who like to keep their car under a sheet so that it always remains shiny and spotless. 

The car cover features the iconic MC20 logo print in a repeated way to form a camouflage pattern. It is crafted from a breathable, bi-elastic fabric lined with a soft fleece, which ensures both a snug fit and a new style-standard. It perfectly highlights the silhouette of the sports car making it recognizable even when covered in the garage. This new addition seems to make the Modenese super sports car even more unique.

The MC20 camouflage cover will soon be available for order at the official Maserati stockists, and at the company’s official website.

Under the bonnet, the MC20 features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that churns out 630 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 730 Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm. The output matches with the MC12's 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated V12 mill in terms of power, however, the torque is up by 78 Nm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

Talking about the performance, the sports car can touch the 100 kmph mark in just 2.9 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 323 kmph. 

Slated to go on sale in 2021, the price of the MC20 starts at $210,000 (RM 849,193). The electric version of the sportscar is also on its way.
