Maserati MC20 is the 'Best of the Best'
KUALA LUMPUR: At the 2021 Red Dot Awards, Maserati MC20 received the 'Best of the Best' prize in the Product Design category.
On this great news, the brand's head of design Klaus Busse said, “We are honoured to receive this coveted accolade, which recognizes the work of an entire team who have worked hard on this unique project, creating a car that opens a new chapter in Maserati’s history.”
Adding on, Maserati CEO, David Grasso stated, “Our mission was to develop a car that would be remembered in the future as the model that launched the Maserati New Era. And I think we’ve achieved our goal with MC20. Maserati is innovative by nature, powered by passion and unique by design: the new super sports car embodies all these values and is a watershed, the founding model of this new phase in the Brand’s history.”
Frankly speaking, we aren’t surprised, as the MC20 has all the right attributes to making it big. Developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab and manufactured at the Modena facility, it is a true all-Italian car.
Designed by the Centro Stile Maserati in Turin, the MC20 is an amalgamation of elegance and sporting prowess. In every sense, it is a true masterpiece of style and has inaugurated a new era for the company.
The MC20 represents the pure form of speed and has a district personality with unmistakable lines and refined aerodynamics. The brand's new super sports car is innovative in its very nature with its every design detail being functional. For instance, the butterfly doors are not only amazing to look at but also enhance the car's ergonomics, providing optimal access to the cabin.
As for its powerhouse, the MC20 is powered by a new Nettuno V6 engine that pumps out a maximum power of 630 hp. It also enables the super sports car to complete the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in under 2.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 325 kmph. The said mill is entirely Maserati's creation from design to development to built, everything is in-house. What makes the powertrain special is that it uses a pre-chamber combustion tech derived from F1 engines. Amazing, right?
