Maserati MC20 greets onlookers at the Monterey Car Week 2021
KUALA LUMPUR: The 2021 edition of the Monterey Car Week is going in full swing with a lot of amazing vehicles on display. For instance, one can check out the production-spec Pininfarina Battista, the 350-unit limited Acura NSX Type S (whose first model was auctioned at the event itself), the 112-unit limited Lamborghini Countach, to name a few. Joining the club now is Maserati's MC20 where 'MC' stands for 'Maserati Corse' the Italian for 'racing'.
The car made its Northern California debut during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it appeared before the VIP spectators seated at the Concept Lawn. Surely, this two-seater, mid-engine car is marking a new era for the Trident brand.
A little about the Pebble Beach Concept Lawn -
This lawn in particular is one of the major attraction points of the Monterey Car Week. Some of the most forward-thinking designs and innovations are displayed here. For instance, the MC2O grabbed a lot of attention and appreciation for its racing DNA, striking aerodynamics, 328 kmph top speed, 2.88 second century sprint time, 150 kg weight, carbon fibre monocoque, and powerful Maserati Nettuno V6 mill with F1-derived tech.
Speaking of the engine, the Nettuno unit pumps out 630 hp of maximum power and ensures the driver feels the racing heritage of Maserati. It also marks the return of the automaker producing its own engine after more than 20 years.
To conclude, the MC20 is without a doubt a worthy successor to the legendary MC12. Not to forget, it is a 100% Made in Modena product.
