Maserati Grecale: Key design & comfort highlights

A few days ago, Naza Italia unveiled the Maserati Grecale SUV in the local market, thus marking the car's first ASEAN public showcasing.

In the Maserati Malaysia lineup, the Grecale occupies the spot below the Levante and, once on sale, will take on the likes of BMW X4 and Porsche Macan.

In a few months, the Maserati Grecale will reach the local authorized dealerships, and it is only then will the prices be revealed for all the three variants, namely, GT, Moderna, and Trofeo.

1. Modern design language

Following the automaker's tradition of naming the cars after winds, the Grecale represents the cool, strong, Mediterranean wind. This hints at the SUVs new wave of design feats and equally applies to the car's tech and performance aspects.

The Grecale is a timeless Italian beauty with beautifully sculpted lines that fuses the car's iconic design elements with a futuristic outlook. Apart from looking exceptional and different from the rest, the new Maserati has a purpose in every detail. Even the smallest knob expresses an emotion along with full functionality.

A few noteworthy exterior bits include -

• Enhancing the SUVs' front profile is the brand's signature grille framing that is low and imposing without being too excessive. Above it sits the modernised oval logo, a sign of the car entering a new era.
• Maserati MC20-derived headlamps feature LED technology, and the unit perfectly fits the car's vertical body shape.
• New Trident-inspired alloy wheels give the coupe a striking look, along with flush door handles and several carbon-fibre bits.

• The iconic triple-side air vents are essential to the brand's design. Here they come with the variants’ names (GT, Trofeo, and Modena).
• At the rear, the SUV features the Giugiaro 3200 GT-inspired boomerang-shaped tail lamps that seamlessly blend with the car's clean lines

• The absence of a gear lever and buttons makes the centre panel spacious with space for two big cup holders, mobile phone charging space, and a large storage compartment with butterfly doors
• The ventilated and heated seats wrapped in hand-stitched finest leather offer absolute comfort to the passengers

• The power-controlled sunroof in tinted safety glass can be positioned in three ways - open, close, and vent
• A beautiful head-up display enhances the driving experience and displays important information exactly when the driver needs it. The layouts can be customised as per the driver's taste
• A full TFT 12.3-inch colour instrument panel is designed to make it and the information provided in a clear manner
• The iconic Maserati watch, a distinctive design feature for ages, sits on the dashboard. The owner can select the theme as per choice

• The centre console features two big, angled screens measuring 12.3-inch and 8.8-inch, with many commands managed via their sleek surfaces. These ergonomically positioned, touch-controlled units can operate almost every function
• Ambient lighting with three levels of intensity offers a living room-like feel and effect
• Natural high-performing sound is offered by laser-cut metal grille-covered tweeters and mid-range speakers

• Enjoy a seamless and smart experience thanks to Maserati Connect. For instance, with In-Car Alexa, the driver can ask to play music, control smart home devices, get weather & news updates, and more

• Pure driving pleasure can be achieved via real-time traffic info and updates on parking availability at the destination
• The car will keep the driver posted on the SUVs' health and even remind you of your next service, thanks to Maserati Connect. The service also offers dedicated support in case of theft or help along a trip
