When will the Maserati Grecale debut?
Maserati Grecale will make its debut on March 22, 2022.What will power the Maserati Grecale?
The upcoming Maserati Grecale is expected to borrow the 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 mill from the MC20 supercar. While revealing the global debut schedule, Maserati also released some new camouflaged images of the SUV, which are more revealing than the shots we saw last month. The camouflage reads “I’m the Maserati Grecale. I can’t tell you much more”.
We can see the SUV’s front end featuring the upright headlights larger than the ones available on the Levante. The grille carries vertical bars and a big trident badge. Moving towards the rear, here the Maserati’s upcoming Grecale looks much similar to the Levante because of the same quarter panel and C-pillar.
Some highlights of the Grecale like quad-tip exhaust, huge front brake rotors, and calipers give hints about its performance-oriented characteristics.
As far as the mechanicals are concerned, Maserati has not yet made any official announcement, while the reports suggest that the SUV will borrow the underpinning from the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
It also said that the Maserati Grcecale will be manufactured in the same plant in Italy where Alfa Romeo creates the Stelvio. However, the former is not likely to adopt the engine from the latter. Instead, we expect a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 mill under the bonnet of the Grecale, which powers the MC20 supercar. The said engine is capable of generating a maximum power output of 622 bhp and a peak torque of 730 Nm.
Since last month, Maserati has been involved in testing around 250 development models of the Grecale in several countries, including Japan, the US, UAE, China, Finland, and Italy.
