Malaysian football club JDT teamed up with Aston Martin

KUALA LUMPUR: Founded in 1972, the Malaysian football club JDT (Johor Darul Ta’zim FC) is known for its several victories in its field. Between 2014 and 2020, the club won seven consecutive Super League titles. Now the country’s leading football club joined hands with the Aston Martin Racing Asia, the marque which registered its victory in last year's Le Mans Endurance champions. 

JDT, which is also known as the Southern Tigers, recently announced this partnership on its Facebook and Twitter handles. The venture will see the British motor company making special edition JDT-themed designs for its cars, dubbed as Aston Martin JDT Edition range. These special cars will be retailed by the football club and the profit will be shared by the two brands. 

"We are proud and delighted to have reached an agreement with the brand's headquarters based in the United Kingdom and Asia office. The partnership with the British auto racing outfit is not only very valuable monetarily to JDT, but is also a deep-rooted relationship that is going to develop opportunities for JDT, Johor, and Aston Martin Racing in various areas over the coming years,” said JDT.

Along with the announcement, Southern Tigers also released a video starring Aston Martin’s currently available models in the local market - DBS Superleggera, DB11, DBX, and Vantage. The cars were heading towards the JDT FC stadium. So, we will probably be seeing the special JDT editions of all these Aston Martin cars. The JDT players posing with Astons were also featured.

Apart from Aston Martin, the Southern Tigers football club is also carrying partnerships with some other international brands that mark its growth in terms of branding and stature domestically as well as internationally. Some of them are Unicef, Nike, Hublot, Subway, F&N, and SWAG EV.
