Malaysia gets a new e-hailing service called ‘airasia ride’
KUALA LUMPUR: Back in June, Malaysia's home-grown airline brand, AirAsia revealed its plan of introducing the e-hailing service in the country. And now it has finally launched the service with the name ‘airasia ride’. As per the company, the ride will offer greater convenience to the customers along with competitive prices. It also provides a better income opportunity to the drivers.
One can book the airasia ride e-hailing service by tapping on the ‘Ride’ icon on the airasia Super App, or by visiting airasia.com/ride. The services are currently available in the Klang Valley with more cities adding up soon.
The airasia ride fares are set at an average of RM 1 per kilometre, which does not include toll charges. On the first ride, customers can get a discount of RM 3 by using the AARIDE3 promo code, which is valid up to September 30, 2021. As for convenience, on-demand and pre-book ride options are available on the app along with a special ‘Allstar Ride’ that will be driven by AirAsia pilots and cabin crew.
While commenting on the ‘airasia ride’ the company’s CEO Lim Chiew Shan said, "What sets airasia ride apart from others in the market would be the unique insights and data that we have due to our position as a Super App that owns an airline, and have strong vertical products on e-commerce, fintech, logistics, and now e-hailing. This enables us to leverage on airasia Group’s rich and vast data and algorithm to provide a seamless and connected journey experience for our passengers where they will be able to perform in-path booking for both their flights and pre-book their ride to the airport and even for their return journey at the same time.”
He further added that passengers will be able to use their BIG Points to pay for their rides very soon, and will be able to enjoy the lowest fare along with FREE rides, just like the AirAsia Free Seats.
