Lotus Cars Malaysia, the sole distributor of the British sports car brand in the country, has finally launched the highly-anticipated electric SUV, the Eletre. It is touted as a new breed of pure electric SUVs, which comes loaded with performance-focused technology offering exceptional driving dynamics and outstanding comfort. It is also the most ‘connected’ Lotus ever.

2023 Lotus Eletre Exterior
The all-new Lotus Eletre boasts a futuristic design ‘carved by air’ created under the direction of Ben Payne. It has a cab-forward stance with short overhangs, and a long wheelbase, giving it a light and high-riding sports car appearance. The signature design element is its "porosity," with exit vents on the bonnet and at various other places, which not only adds to the EV’s efficiency but also lends it a chiselled and muscular look.

The range-topping Eletre R, on the other hand, exclusively comes with 22-inch 10-spoke gloss black forged alloy wheels wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero CORSA performance tyres. For those who want more personalisation, the automaker offers a total of five designs for wheels to choose from.
The 2023 Lotus Eletre colour palette includes - Natron Red, Galloway Green, Stellar Black, Kaimu Grey, Blossom Grey and Solar Yellow.

All the variants of the Eletre come equipped with a dual-motor, AWD powertrain setup delivering two different levels of output. The base and mid-spec S make 605 hp and 710 Nm while the output of the Eletre R is rated at 905 hp and 985 Nm. Hitting the century sprint in 2.95 seconds only, the latter is claimed as the world’s fastest dual-motor fully electric SUV. Just like the motor setup, the battery capacity of all versions remains the same at 112-kWh.
Equipped with 800-volt electrical architecture, the EV supports up to 350 kW of DC fast charging, which juices up the battery from 10 to 80% only in 20 minutes. However, when using the 22 kW AC charging, it will take around 6-7 hours.
