Lexus RX to be Launched in Malaysia on November 12

Kuala Lumpur: The fourth-generation Lexus RX recently marked its debut at the 2015 New York International Auto Show in April this year. Now this car is all set to get launched in Malaysia as well. Lexus Malaysia made an announcement on its official Facebook page about the debut of RX on November 12 at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre. The automaker has also invited public to this launching event by providing RSVP at the provided link. The invite reads- “ See it for yourself and discover sophistication without boundaries. Join us at the Lexus RX Amazing Night on 12 November 2015, 7.00 pm at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre. RSVP now! “.

Last month this car went on sale in Japan with two variants namely RX 450h hybrid and RX 200t. The latter is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine which produces a maximum power of 235 hp at 5600 rpm along with a peak torque of 350 Nm at 1650 to 4000 rpm. Its direct injection fuel system utilises a twin-scroll turbocharger and Dual VVT-iW (Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Wide) for maximum torque at low revolutions. This engine is further mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. Moving further, the RX 450h hybrid gets its power from a 3.5-litre V6 engine along with an electric motor. This engine churns out a fuel economy of 18.8 km/l due to its cylinder heads with enhanced exhaust gas cooling. Further, both the 200t and 450h comes with an option of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive along with an F Sport package which gives this car an adaptive variable suspension along with more aggressive styling. Moreover, the RX450h F Sport reduces roll through an electric active stabiliser system.

Towards the exterior, it features a signature Lexus spindle grille along with a sharp and edgy body. Its wheelbase is also increased by 50 mm to make 2,789 mm which, as a result, provides a lot of space inside. Chief engineer of Lexus, Takayuki Katsuda said that his team has aimed for a better ride and handling along with more power and fuel efficiency for this SUV.
