Lexus LM 350 premium MPV: All you need to know
The Lexus LM is a multi-purpose vehicle that is a rebadged version of the Toyota Alphard, of course with a more premium look and feel. Earlier, this month the automaker announced that the LM MPV will arrive in Malaysia in a single variant form, i.e., LM 350 with a four-seat layout.
Now, Lexus Malaysia has opened its ordering books for the LM 350 and has confirmed a May launch with the deliveries beginning in June. Now that we are halfway through the journey, it’s better we learn more about the Lexus upcoming offering.
Lexus LM 350 design
The LM 350 design language reflects confidence and embodies dynamism. The MPVs wide and low stance along with the spindle grille displays a powerful stance and an aura of prestige that helps it stand out in the crowd.
Major highlights on the outside expect for the big grille include a sleek triple-beam LED headlamp with brand’s signature ‘tick’ styled DRLs, 3D styled multi-spoke 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/50 profile tyres, rear sliding door, twin moon roof, Iconic L-shaped LED rear combination lamps, chrome integrated rear bumper, rain-sensing wipers, power back door, and auto fold, heater, memory, & reversed-linked side mirrors.
Exterior colour options include two stunning options - White Pearl Crystal Shine and Black.

Lexus LM 350 cabin
The 4-seater LM 350 is more of a luxury chauffeur car and therefore the prime focal point of the cabin is rear-seat comfort and passenger privacy. From the Gin-Sui-Boku of the privacy partition to innovative seat cushioning, the attention to detail is amazing and all in the pursuit of improving the quality of time spent inside the LM.
The LM 350’s cabin is fitted with several comfort, convenience, and luxury features. Part of the kit is -

- Triple-zone air-con system: comes with independent temperature controls for the driver, front passenger, and rear passenger
- Wireless charger: this charging tray supports many Qi-compatible smartphones and electronic devices
Also, part of the kit is a rear personal lamp, position memory switches, and rear heater vents. However, what’ll grab your attention first-hand is the massive, HD, 26-inch screen in the privacy partition.
It comes with an advanced audio system and a range of input ports. Following it is the multi-operation panel with controls for seat position, rear entertainment system, and air-conditioning.
Interior colour options include semi-aniline leather covers in two shades white and black.
Lexus LM 350 Performance
Powering the Lexus ultra-luxurious MPV is a 3.5-litre 24-valve, DOHC, V6, naturally aspirated engine that pumps out a maximum power of 296 hp at 6,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 361 Nm at 4,700 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed Direct-Shift Automatic transmission.
With such massive outputs, the MPV completes the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 8.3 seconds and attains a top speed of 180 kmph.
Lexus LM 350 suspension and braking
Since the Lexus upcoming MPV portrays itself as a car one can rest or conduct business meetings on the go, it needs to ensure a perfectly smooth ride. And for that, a strong suspension setup is a must. The alignment of the L-arm type MacPherson strut front suspension delivers excellent handling stability and ride comfort and the rear trailing arm double-wishbone suspension with curved upper arms delivers excellent handling stability and ride comfort.
The highlight here is the swing-valves shock absorbers on both front and rear suspension that help reduce vibration and ensure ultra-smooth ride quality.
On the braking front is present ventilated disc brakes at both ends that contribute stopping and driving control.
Lexus LM 350 safety and security
As can be expected from a car of its stature, the LM 350 is loaded with a bulk of active and passive safety features. The latter includes seven airbags (dual front, driver’s knee, front side for diver & front passenger, left & right curtain), whiplash injury lessening, and ISOFIX. As for the active safety features it gets ABS, EBD, BA, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Tyre Pressure Control, Hill-start Assist Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Blind Spot Monitor, Clearance & Back Sonar, Panoramic View Monitor, Reverse Parking Assist Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Parking Support Brake.
The LM 350 also benefits from Lexus Safety System+ that includes Front Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with stop & go function, Lane Keeping System (Lane Tracing Assist and Lane Departure Alert), and Adaptive High-beam System.
