Lexus ES 250 showcased at the KLIMS 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: Standing with pride at the Lexus booth at the ongoing KLIMS 2018 is the all-new Lexus ES 250. Carrying a style and aura of its own, the ES 250 didn’t take long to show its magic and attract a large crowd. The fact that Lexus has showcased this car suggests that it might be launched in Malaysia sooner than expected.

The all-new Lexus ES 250 is in its seventh generation and it has already been launched in our neighbouring countries - Singapore and Thailand. We are expecting Lexus to do the honours here in Malaysia, probably, by the end of the year.

The Lexus ES 250 is based on an all-new GA-K platform which is equivalent to Toyota’s TNGA platform. The new car is expected to perform even better without compromising on ride quality and comfort.

It is being speculated that powering the Lexus ES 250 will be a 2.5-litre VVT-iE naturally aspirated petrol engine which would churn out close to 203 horses at 6000 revs and 247 Nm of torque at 5000 revs. The gearbox in question would be an 8-speed automatic unit. These are not official figures from Lexus but the cars launched in Singapore and Thailand have got the same numbers. So, it is quite likely that we are going to get an engine tuned in the same state.

Lexus has included many premium features in its latest ES 250 to make it much more desirable. Some of them like the 10.2-inch full-colour Heads-Up Display and the 12.3-inch infotainment display really puts this car separate from the competition. Another aspect of the ES 250 that sets it apart is the spacious, luxurious, and comfortable rear seats. Lexus really focuses on passenger comfort. The rear seats are electrically adjustable and get reclining feature.

Lexus cars have always been priced at a premium when compared to their rivals. The ES 250 is no exception. The fact that Lexus imports the cars directly from Japan, adds a lot to the total cost.
