Who is Leona Chin?
Leona Chin is a professional Malaysian race driver, also called as Malaysia's drift queen. Behind the youthful exuberance and bubbly demeanour is a seasoned racer who goes up against the pros. Her passion for cars and drifting arose in early school days when her friends used to quiz each other about the specs of a car. Eventually, she found herself more engaged in the car talks rather than girly gossips. Soon, she realised her love for cars is fastening when she started naming car models and engine types effortlessly, just looking at the picture. Her love of sports is never in seating backseat, heaven is in gearing up the wheels sitting on the captain's seat. This unique relationship with speeding cars began at the age of 16, when she met a group of people who were car enthusiasts. Starting out with the basics of drifting which were the ‘doughnut’ and the ‘figure 8′, today she is confident enough to challenge a professional race driver.
