Lamborghini’s new supercar set to reveal on July 7

KUALA LUMPUR: Back in March, Lamborghini announced two new V12-powered supercars for this year, without disclosing any further info. However, one out of the two was expected to be the last iteration of the Aventador supercar. Now, here comes a new teaser from the house of the raging bull that makes the speculation more strong as the silhouettes of the teased model resemble the Aventador.

The teaser was released on Lamborghini’s social media handles, showcasing two cars running on a curved path with their headlamps on. The caption reads, “It takes time to become timeless, Are you ready? It’s almost time for the reveal.” Yes, the brand also announced the car’s debut date i.e. July 7, 2021.

Another hint towards the arrival of the last Lamborghini Aventador is that the company mentioned the upcoming model as the “last of its kind.” As per the speculations, the model could be called the Aventador S Jota, and it would be a toned-down version of the SVJ. Rumors also suggest that the upcoming model will retain the flagship supercar’s legendary design with some styling tweaks on the front and rear. It is unlikely to come with a rear wing.

Further supporting the idea is the tenth anniversary of the original Aventador; the arrival of a new version to celebrate this milestone also makes sense. Also, spy shots of the Aventador prototype surfaced on the internet last year.

On the power front, the Lamborghini upcoming supercar could borrow a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine from the most powerful road-going Aventador. The motor churns out a maximum power of 769 hp and a peak torque of 720 Nm. It is likely to be combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
