Lamborghini Huracan Evo revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: Admit it, we all have been fans of Lamborghini cars at some point in our life. In our childhood, all of us would dream to become a rich person and bring home a Lamborghini someday. However, the dreams fade away as soon as we are hit by life, don’t they? Still, there’s no wrong in admiring something which is a hell of a beauty. And to that, welcome the newest Lamborghini, the Huracan Evo.
Succeeding the Gallardo, the Lamborghini Evo is a V10 sports car which can do no wrong. The Italian manufacturer has gifted Huracan with the Evo tag because of its successful evolution over time. With the new iteration, comes along some sexy styling, improved driving dynamics, and an updated V10 that has a capacity of 5.2-litre.
Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said, “The Huracan EVO is the very definition of evolution: it is a step ahead, redefining the segment parameters. It is remarkably easy to drive, while delivering the most responsive, sensory and agile driving experience, in every environment”.
Thanks to the front splitter and integrated wing housed in the revamped front bumper, the sports car now boasts much-improved aerodynamics. Furthermore, taking inspiration from the Huracan Performante, the Huracan Evo comes with new side air intakes, rear spoiler, wheels, and taller than before ports for the titanium exhaust system on the rear bumper. A few of these details were already known thanks to the previous teasers.
Borrowed from the Huracan Performante, the Huracan Evo now houses a much powerful 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 motor which can throw out a maximum power of 640 PS and a peak torque of 600 Nm. From a standstill, the updated Huracan Evo can reach up to 100 kmph in no more than 2.9 seconds. Reaching 200 kmph doesn’t too long either as the sports car can rush to 200 kmph in 9.0 seconds. A top speed of 325 kmph has been claimed by the automaker.
The Huracan Evo has received a lot of upgrades in the quest of improving its handling. The sports car is equipped with electronically-adjustable dampers (magneto rheological), Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI), and even a four-wheel steering system. A bunch of sensors like the wheel speed sensors, gyroscope sensors, a variety of accelerometers and others take various readings and modify the performance of the Huracan Evo as per the needs.
Lamborghini has announced the prices of the Huracan Evo for different markets worldwide. The prices are as follows - JPY 29,843,274 (Php 14.424 million) in Japan, USD 261,274 (Php 13.7 million) in the US, GBP 165,256 (Php 11.066 million) in the UK, and RMB 3,298,100 ( Php 25.242 million) in China.
