Lamborghini bids farewell to Aventador with new Ultimae V12 supercar
KUALA LUMPUR: After much speculation and teasing, Lamborghini has finally unveiled the wraps off one of its last two V12 models and as expected it is the final version of the Aventador, dubbed as the LP 780-4 Ultimae. The new super sports car is a combination of the Aventador SVJ performance and the sophisticated design of Aventador S. The automaker will preview the new model at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week.
The 2021 Aventador Ultimae is equipped with the most powerful V12 mill available in the Aventador lineup. That’s a 6.5-litre V12 that produces a whooping power of 780 PS at 8,700 rpm and 720 Nm of peak torque from 6,750 rpm. The motor generates 40 PS more than the Aventador S and 10 PS more than the Aventador SVJ. On the performance front, the coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 8.7 seconds. The top speed is rated at 355 kmph.
Contributing to the Aventador Ultimae performance is its dry weight of just 1,550 kg thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber for the chassis. It is further paired with the four steering wheels “guaranteeing outstanding driving performance at both low and high speeds, and grip to any kind of terrain,” says Lamborghini.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said that “It delivers the essential twelve-cylinder experience in terms of inimitable design, engineering solutions, and the most emotive driving experience, and is the definitive Aventador concluding an extraordinary era.”
Visually, the supercar boasts a sleek and striking aerodynamic design featuring an active aero system with a movable rear wing, Inside, it gets all hi-tech and luxury features, the thing for which the brand is known for. Some of them are fully configurable TFT digital dashboard, voice-activated communications and entertainment with Apple CarPlay support, and telemetry system.
The production of the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae is limited to just 600 units, out of which 350 will be coupes and 250 will be roadsters.
