KLIMS 2024: Nissan Kicks e-POWER launched, a new chapter in the brand's electrification journey

KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan has electrified the stage at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show with the launch of the highly anticipated Kicks e-Power. Automaker’s chief brand and customer officer, Asako Hoshino, unveiled the compact SUV EV as part of Nissan’s commitment to enhance electric mobility and enrich lives through innovation.

The Kicks e-power combines the thrill of electric driving with the practicality of a hybrid. Here are its key highlights -

• Award-winning tech: Unlike traditional electric vehicles, here the driver will have no range anxiety. The EV features a small gasoline engine that charges the battery, ensuring continuous electric driving without the need for external charging. This revolutionary tech made its debut in Japan in 2026, it has gained worldwide acclaim and has won Japan’s Technology of the Year Award.

• Sustainability: With over 1.5 million e-POWER vehicles sold globally, the introduction of the Kicks e-POWER to Malaysia underscores Nissan’s vision for sustainable mobility.
• Segment benchmark: The Kicks e-Power will surely refine the compact SUV segment, all thanks to its perfect blend of performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge design.

Nissan Hyper Tour

Along with the Kick e-POWER, Nissan showcased the Hyper Tourer, an all-electric MPV embodying Japanese hospitality. With autonomous driving features and a luxurious “living room on wheels” concept, the Hyper Tourer exemplifies Nissan’s futuristic approach to EVs.

Nissan future plans

As part of its “Arc” business plan, Nissan aims to bring three to five new electrified models to Malaysia within the next three years, solidifying its role as a leader in sustainable transportation.
