Kids getting bored at home, comes Rolls-Royce to the rescue

KUALA LUMPUR: Rolls-Royce has come up with an idea to keep the kids entertained at home during the lockdown.

The ultra-luxurious British automaker wants kids to draw their dream car. In fact, it has launched a new contest that goes by the name of ‘Young Designer Competition’.

The said competition was launched by Rolls-Royce as a way to provide families with a welcome distraction during the pandemic that has forced us all to stay at home. It also is a means of keeping people busy at home drawing cars.

Aspiring designers up to the age of 16 years can take part in the competition and design their dream Rolls-Royce. The British marque did not release any specifics on what car the children should draw. Instead, it is encouraging kids imagination to run wild, allowing their creativity levels to rise to the fullest.

One such example shows a sketch turned into render of a ‘crabmobile’ with pincers. So, let your children draw what they want and go as wild as possible.

As per Rolls-Royce, the open design is similar to the way it offers limitless possibilities when it comes to customization of their cars. From embroidery to paint, down to the Starlight Headliner and custom air pieces, any and everything is possible. Well, as long as one has the money to pay for it.

The designs will be judge by the automaker’s design team, and they’ll select a winner and runners-up. The winner will get a digitally rendered illustration of their design and a chauffeur-driven in the Phantom for their first day back to school together with their best friend. As for the runners-up, they will receive a hand-signed certificate from Rolls-Royce Chief Executive Officer Torsten Müller-Ötvös.

Note that the Rolls-Royce Young Designer Competition is not limited to the UK or Europe as the competition is open for a worldwide audience. So yes, you there at home could also participate in this design competition.
