Jaguar F-PACE Hits Frankfurt with a Guinness World Record
Kuala Lumpur: Jaguar has finally unveiled its crossover dubbed as F-PACE at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This revolutionary new drive has managed to make it to the Guinness Book of World Records by completing a 19.08-metre high 360-degree loop. The F-PACE endured 6.5G worth of force to complete this stunt. The CX-17 Crossover concept from Jaguar was unveiled two years ago which was a first attempt at this body type. Now the production ready version of crossover concept has been unveiled at Frankfurt. Though F-PACE retains the overall shape of its predecessor, you can expect some minor changes.

This car would be available in six variants namely- Pure, Prestige, Portfolio, R-Sport, S and First Edition. F-PACE would be the third car to be based on Jaguar's new Lightweight Aluminum Architecture after XF and XE. This architecture not only provides a good fuel efficiency but also results in an agile handling with unrivaled dynamics. It would also feature muscular rear haunches and the tail lights along with signature side vents and slim headlamps with full-LED configuration. This car measures 4731 mm long along with a wheelbase measuring 2874mm. These huge dimensions give it an impressive boot space of 650-litres. Further, it is anchored with 22-inch alloy wheels which are suspended by double wishbone front suspension and Integral Link rear suspension.
Moving towards the interior, the dash is integrated with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, used for InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with 60GB solid-state drive and is powered by a quad-core processor. Running on ultra-fast Ethernet, a maximum of eight devices can be connected to the vehicle's WiFi hotspot. A rotary gear selector can be noticed on a clean and simple dashboard with minimum buttons and a virtual 12.3-inch full-HD instrument panel.

Under the hood, four engines are being offered with F-PACE. A 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel engine which churns out a maximum power of 178 hp, a 2.0-litre four cylinder petrol engine with 237 hp, a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine with 296 hp and a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with either 335 hp or 375 hp. Further, an option of either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission is also provided. The AWD system includes Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) and Adaptive Surface Response (ASR) which is one of the most advanced system ever fitted in any Jaguar.
A number of driver assistance systems have been provided with F-PACE which include the Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, the All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), stereo camera for the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Intelligent Speed Limiter (ISL), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) systems. In Malaysia, it could be expected to be rolled out with a starting price tag of RM226k. However, no information has been provided regarding its launch date.
