Isuzu D-Max showcased record-breaking sales in 2022

KUALA LUMPUR: Last year, Isuzu’s popular pickup, the D-Max sold over 9k units, thus breaking its past sales records.

The automaker delivered a total of 9,211 units of the pickup which surpasses D-Max's previous record of 6,480 units from 2016. Also, compared to last year, the pickup’s sales nearly doubled!

Out of the total sales, 55% of the D-Max were delivered in Peninsular Malaysia and the flagship X-Terrain variant made it to the ‘premium lifestyle’ pickup truck segment and sold 877 units last year.

Isuzu Malaysia CEO, Shunsuke Okazoe on the exciting news said, “Despite facing stock limitations from the factory, the third-generation Isuzu D-Max achieved extraordinary heights in terms of market penetration. Thanks to its exceptional design and future-looking features, the latest generation Isuzu D-Max brings new levels of driving comfort and performance without losing any inherent Isuzu family traits. It is a true representation of a modern-day pick-up truck.”

Automaker's Chief Operating Officer, Kenkichi Sogo added, “Our focus for this year will be to ensure that our customer experience remains positive as we aim to reduce the delivery times and to enhance our network. A little about the country’s most popular pickup, the D-Max

It was only last year that Isuzu Malaysia updated the D-Max with new comfort features for the top-spec X-Terrain 3.0 model. The variant’s specs sheet now includes - a wireless charging pad and a 360-degree surround view monitor. Powering it is a 3.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine generating 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The drive is sent to all-four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
