Isuzu D-Max owners show patriotism in nationwide Merdeka Convoy
KUALA LUMPUR: In a strong display of national pride, Isuzu D-Max owners across Malaysia took part in the Isuzu Merdeka Convoy, a special event organized by Isuzu Malaysia to commemorate the country’s 67th Independence Day. The event saw an impressive turnout, with around 3,300 participants driving 900 Isuzu D-Max vehicles from 36 Isuzu outlets nationwide, ranging from Alor Setar to Keningau.

“Through the success of the Merdeka Convoy 66, owners have voiced their satisfaction and eagerness to participate in similar outings that develop camaraderie among Isuzu D-Max owners hence we hope to continue developing such activities for our owners,” said Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Shunsuke Okazoe.
Mr. Okazoe made these remarks while flagging off the convoy at the Indah Utara outlet in Alor Setar, Kedah, where 80 Isuzu D-Max vehicles began their journey to Tasoh Lake Resort in Perlis. There, participants enjoyed a scenic drive and a day filled with engaging activities, further enhancing the sense of community among Isuzu D-Max owners.
The Isuzu D-Max lineup in Malaysia offers a range of models, starting with the entry-level Standard variant, which provides essential features at an affordable price. Moving up, the Auto Plus adds convenience features, while the Premium model strikes a balance between advanced technology and value. The flagship X-Terrain offers premium amenities for those seeking a fully-equipped pickup, and there's also a Single Cab variant for work purposes.
The recently launched facelift brings refreshed design elements across all five variants, including a reprofiled front grille, updated headlamps, and a revised bumper. The top-tier X-Terrain now boasts a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and CarPlay, enhanced safety features, and new ambient lighting. The facelift retains the 1.9L and 3.0L turbodiesel engines, now Euro 4 compliant, with prices starting from RM98,949.20.
