Isuzu brings back the D-Max Tour Mate edition in Australia

KUALA LUMPUR: Isuzu has reintroduced the Tour Mate special edition version of the popular D-Max pickup truck in Australia. The latest model is equipped with an array of additional accessories designed to enhance both functionality and style, making the vehicle a compelling choice for off-road enthusiasts and regular commuters.

First introduced in 2019, the Tour Mate special edition was well-received for offering great value and practicality. Well, now the automaker has revamped the pack to cater to modern needs.

The package is available for the two variants - LS-U and LS-U+ and includes the following accessories -

  • A tow bar tongue and 50 mm ball
  • 12-pin wiring harness
  • Electric brake controller
  • Clearview extendable heated and power-fold compact towing mirrors
  • A canopy with dual lift-up side windows
  • Slimline weather shields
  • Unique Tour Mate badging

The 2024 Isuzu D-MAX Tour Mate package offers excellent value by including several popular optional accessories bundled together. By purchasing this special edition, customers can save at least $6,000 compared to buying the accessories separately, explains the automaker.

Isuzu further assures potential buyers that the added accessories will not compromise the vehicle’s core functionality. It adds 85 kg with a minimal impact on payload capacity. Equipped with the Tour Mate package, the LS-U trim maintains a payload capacity of 910 kg, while the LS-U+ offers 905 kg.

“The reintroduction of the D-MAX TOUR MATE not only adds convenience by simplifying the accessory selection process, but it also offers customers unmatched value for money,” said Isuzu UTE Australia’s Deputy Managing Director, Mr Koichiro Yoshida.

“It’s an uncompromising combination of the most sought-after accessories historically chosen by Australian buyers—a package driven by sales data that bundles together what customers want—in a compelling package that offers three times the value for the same money,” says Isuzu.

Speaking of the price, the Isuzu LS-U Tour Mate is priced at $69,990 (RM 208,581) while the Isuzu LS-U+ Tour Mate costs $72,990 (RM 217,521).

While this special edition D-Max is exclusive to Australia, its success may lead to the introduction of a similar model in Malaysia.
