KUALA LUMPUR: The performance-focused version of the i4 electric sedan was confirmed by BMW a while back and since then it’s been creating a lot of buzz in the auto industry. However, things changed with the arrival of a leaked image that is most likely of the upcoming BMW i4 M50 xDrive.

The single leaked image of the speedster was uploaded on Instagram a few days back, but now it's been taken off - probably to keep the mystery around it intact.
So, what did we get from the leaked image of the company's first electrified M Performance model? Starting with the design language -
Unlike the March arrived four-door i4, the upcoming performance version showcases a sportier look. Helping it achieve this aggressive profile are elements like M-specific exterior inserts, large air inlets, sharp front bumper, elongated grille with 'M' badge, and a new matte blue hue.
The side profile of the performance car benefits from a capturing look, all thanks to new alloy wheels and side skirts with black inserts. We were happy to see the carried forward characteristic wing mirrors with subtle design revision. At the rear, it features a fancier diffuser.
Overall, the design theme of the BMW performance EV resembles the recently revealed M Sport package with hints from the Shadow Line package as well.
As for the cabin inclusion, we don't have any images or concrete information in hand. However, the performance EV is said to feature the brand's Iconic Sounds Electric system. It is a sound portfolio developed by BMW in collaboration with Hans Zimmer and it ensures a world-class aural experience.
Furthermore, the BMW i4 M50 xDrive will also get a different sound profile.
Time to discuss BMW i4 M50 Drive performance specs. The performance EV is said to feature a dual motor unit that pumps out 530 PS of power. It provides all-wheel drive and completes a century sprint in just four seconds.
Reports also suggest that it will be equipped with an 80-kWh battery. The automaker is yet to confirm the range it will provide, however, it is expected to be less given for its more powerful engine.
With only a few days left for BMW i4 xDrive's arrival, we can't wait to set our eyes on the EV and check what all it has to offer. Are you excited as well?
