Hyundai’s upcoming 7-seater MPV spotted testing In South Korea
KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai’s new MPV has been spied testing once again and this time on the roads of South Korea. Before this, the car was spotted while testing in China. The model is expected to be based on Hyundai’s new K2 platform, and it could be launched in Malaysia to rival the Perodua Alza, Toyota Avanza, Nissan Serena, and Proton Exora. So here’s a closer look at it.
The spy shots feature a heavy dose of camouflage all around the car, which hardly discloses any details. A closer look at the front end reveals that MPV will have a large single-piece grille, and split LED headlamps. At the rear, brake lights of the upcoming MPV are similar to the new Hyundai Tucson and Santa Fe.
On the sides, a sharply raked character line and dual-tone alloy wheels exhibit a sporty pose of the vehicle. The MPV spotted in China did not have roof rails while this time, it is spotted with roof rails. However, the side mirror and wheels seem identical to that one.
The dashboard of the MPV is also hidden under heavy camouflage. However, the four-spoke steering wheel was uncovered. Coming to the seating layout, there are captain seats in the middle row, which suggest that the model could be offered in several seating configurations.
In terms of technology features, the MPV is expected to get a plethora of features just like a typical Hyundai model. It may include a connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, ventilated seats, a sunroof, and so on. For safety, it could get six airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and a camera as well as an electronic stability program.
Just like the other things, Hyundai also stays mum in revealing the mechanical bits. However, we expect that it might have the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options producing 115 PS of power. The top-spec trims could get 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor producing 140 PS. For the transmission, it is likely to get both manual and automatic transmission options.
Hyundai has plans to launch the MPV in the ASEAN market. So stay tuned with us to know all the further details related to it.
