Hyundai's New Concept to Unwrap Next Month
KUALA LUMPUR: The Korean auto manufacturer, Hyundai is coming up with a new concept that'll be uncovered next month. This might be a hint at the next-gen Genesis Coupe as the concept is rumoured to be a flagship two door coupe.
This concept presently holds a code name, HCD-16 and will be unleashed at the Museum of Art in Los Angeles County. The event would take place on August 11 which would be embraced by the presence of the design chief of Hyundai and Kia, Peter Schreyer.
Though, it is not sure at the moment that the upcoming concept would be presented at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance or not but it is likely that the company would try to do so, as the latter event will be occurring in the same week as the event at the Los Angeles Museum would.
The upcoming concept, HCD-16 is expected to be powered with a highly fuel efficient engine because the main focus was given to the fuel efficiency while designing this concept, says Hyundai officials. Also, the automatic doors is another attractive feature to look out for in the coming month when the concept would be released. Hyundai has named this as the Virtual Valet Door System.
It is important to bring to your notice that in last year, Hyundai released its HND-9 concept which also hinted at the next-gen preview of Genesis coupe. But, after the official launch of the concept, it made clear that the upcoming Genesis would be huge than ever.
The Genesis Coupe will be on offer with a V-8 engine which would transmit power to the rear wheels, also found in the Genesis sedan.
It will challenge the German Giants like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The new offering will make its debut by next year and would hit the showrooms, probably by 2017.
