Hyundai Venue Flux edition revealed in South Korea
KUALA LUMPUR: The smallest crossover in Hyundai’s line up, Venue, is known for its funky style that appeals to the younger generation. The model is an attractive deal for those who want a high-riding car but do not want to go for a huge one. The Venue’s popularity has led the Hyundai designers to experiment with opposing colors and the grid grille pattern. As a result, the automaker brought out an even catchier version of the Venue called Flux, exclusively for the home market.
The Flux edition features several cosmetic updates to help it stand out from the regular Venue. These include a hot-stamped front grille with a chrome-studded pattern, which lends it a premium look. To underline the funky character of crossover, designers added Acid Yellow and Grey accents on the bumpers, wheel arches, side skirts, roof, and badging on the C-pillar.
The interior of Hyundai Venue Flux also gets the same treatment with similar accents for the AC vents, rotary dials, and contrast stitching for the leather-wrapped steering wheel and faux grey door armrests. The updates are only visual as their working remains the same. The main interior highlights are an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control, air purifier, sunroof, and rear parking camera.
Under the hood, it carries a 1.6-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol mill, which is also seen on the standard version. The engine is mated to a SmartStream IVT (CVT) automatic transmission and tuned to produce 123 PS of maximum power at 6,300 rpm with 154 Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. An all-wheel-drive option is not available for the Venue, though it has a multi traction control system that replicates the AWD system.
For safety, the Hyundai Venue Flux edition is well packed with six airbags, forward collision avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, lane-keeping assist, driver attention warning, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic collision warning, and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Hyundai does not sell compact Venue crossover in Malaysia; thus the arrival of Flux edition is unlikely as of now.
