Hyundai started operations of service centres during MCO
KUALA LUMPUR: In line with the announcement of the MCO extension, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry has given permission to several industries including car companies for the resumption of operations in the third phase of the order, but with adherence to health and safety guidelines. Hyundai Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has announced the resumption of its selected service centres after taking permission from the ministry. The firm has started operations from April 20.
During the MCO period, the service centres are operating with minimal staff and thus the customers who intend to get the service must book an appointment before the visit. No walk-ins will be entertained. For the safety of customers, the centres are following all the guidelines viz. maintaining the social distancing, regularly disinfecting the premise, monitoring body temperature of employees and customers upon entry, and also proving hand sanitisers at all possible touchpoints.
For an appointment, customers are required to contact any SDAH service centre or the service advisor directly. Most of the outlets are operating from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 12 noon on Saturdays while the outlets in Georgetown and Prai, are operational from 8 am to 5 pm and 9 am to 2 pm respectively. The contact numbers for SDAH service centres are:
- Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya (03-7628 2500)
- Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur (03-7984 5388)
- Skudai, Johor (07-2340 714)
- Ipoh, Perak (05-2533 399)
- Prai, Penang (04-3997 788)
- Georgetown, Penang (04-2811 210)
HSDM has also extended the original warranties that expired in March and April under the Hyundai C A R E Warranty Extension Programme. It aims to provide peace of mind to the customers whose repairs and services are delayed due to the temporary shutdown of the outlets in adherence to the MCO imposed by the government. The warranties are extended till May 31.
“We understand our customers’ predicament of not having access to our service centres during this period, and they are probably worried about their warranty,” said Mr. Low Yuan Lung, Managing Director of HSDM. “With Hyundai C A R E, we wish to set their minds at ease with regards to their warranty eligibility. Not only do we care about our customers’ health and safety, we care about the ‘health’ and safety of their vehicles as well.”
