Hyundai Santa Cruz could look like this!

KUALA LUMPUR: A Russian website posted a ‘could-be’ digital impression of the all-new Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup. Using the bare metal image of the pickup that appeared online recently, the Russian website, Kolesa.ru, worked out a computer-generated image of what it believes could be the showroom version.

The computer illustrations by the Russian website shows the Santa Cruz sharing some of the design clues with the new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.

The new Hyundai Santa Cruz exterior also showcases a new design direction for the company, with pronounced wedges along its flanks. Similar design accents were earlier seen on a concept that hinted toward the next-gen Hyundai Tucson.

Kolesa.ru has made it clear that the images on its website are a result of its artist imagination. However, the bodywork (bare metal image released by the company) has given a big head start.

The new Hyundai Santa Cruz is said to go on sale in the UK sometime next year. As for its appearance in our market, it’s still a while away.

Whenever asked about the model’s progress, the representatives for Hyundai and Kia change the subject; they prefer not to talk about a new ute.

Given the time it has taken to go from being a concept to reality, we expect the jointly developed Hyundai and Kia challenger to the Toyota Hilux is a good three to four years away from launch.
