Hyundai Motors unveils “Prophecy” concept EV
KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Motor’s tagline says “New Thinking, New possibilities”. Doing full justice to this ideology, Hyundai has come up with a never seen before concept EV and named it “Prophecy”. As soulful as the name sounds, the Prophecy concept car is curve-heavy EV and is not even close to any other car, for that matter.
With this new concept car, the South Korean automaker pushes all boundaries into its own look and takes “Sensuous Sportiness” to the next level.
It is said to be Hyundai’s curveball, for those who are interested in predicting its future styling themes. The Prophecy concept tells us that if not all, Hyundai will definitely adopt some of these design elements into its future cars.
With the growing popularity of electric vehicles, it has significantly changed the way automakers are approaching the designing technology. It gives each company a chance to experiment in an entirely new area of inspiration and create looks that are unusual and extraordinary. Hyundai's latest concept has definitely popped from the idea of creating something unique for the future of electric vehicles.
This visionary concept clearly brings out Hyundai’s design philosophy. Sensuous Sportiness concept expands the era of last year’s Concept 45 EV, which leaned heavily on clean lines, vintage rectangular looks, and minimalistic structures. Where the 45 concept car was mostly a combination of sharp angles and minimal geometry, the Prophecy concept shall explain how far it can divert with a protractor design.
Hyundai has very playfully used the curve game for Prophecy. Every square inch of the car is curvy and sleek and the light falling on the car’s body is creating interesting and eye-catchy shapes. There is no engine so there is barely any front overhang. The rear end is significantly wilder than the front, with a strange clear spoiler and a whole lot of interesting textures just below it. The transparent look of the spoiler is clearly meant to show off the components and machinery at work that would otherwise be hidden.
Interior aesthetics of the Prophecy focuses on autonomous driving, shredding off the conventional steering wheel. But in order to establish a connection between humans and automobiles, control is given through the use of joysticks mounted in armrests. The rest of the cabin is designed for utmost luxury and comfort. It is structured for a cinema-like experience with wide reclined seats and an uninterrupted view of the main display and the world outside.
Headlight designs are the absolute beauty of all. The design is "pixelated" and looks like something that is influenced by supernovas. This design study exists to give us an idea of how Hyundai will design future EVs and if in future we have such blueprints on the cars, it is definitely going to be adventurous.
