Hyundai Motors Grabs Five 2015 Good Design Awards!
Kuala Lumpur/Seoul: Hyundai Motors is widely recognized for its alluring designs and the company has proved it again by grabbing not just one but a total of five GOOD DESIGN Awards for successfully executing their design philosophy.
Hyundai received awards for its upcoming car, the Ioniq with an alternative fuel option. Besides which Hyundai won awards for the all-new Tucson 2016, Santa Cruz concept model, the all-new Elantra and Hyundai's unique ‘Sculpture in Motion’ art installation.
Hyundai Motor’s designs were challenged by thousands of leading manufacturers and graphic designer firms from over 47 countries and the brand stood out among them winning 5 titles.
Byung-Seob Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center said, “Being recognized as five-time winners in the GOOD DESIGN Awards strengthens Hyundai Motor’s position as an automotive design leader - not only for traditional combustion-engine vehicles but also for eco-friendly vehicles and ambitious design concepts.”
The Chicago Athenaeum conceptualized and developed these annual awards program. The awards were initiated in recognition with some of the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs across the globe.
GOOD DESIGN is one of the oldest and most prestigious architecture and design awards that is organized across the world, it is brought together by an international jury including veteran designers, architects, experts and cultural leaders in New York in November 2015 to awards and select out their favorite choice.
The major awardees included soon-to-be-launched Hyundai IONIQ, which is Hyundai's advanced alternative fuel compact vehicle. The vehicle was awarded for its impeccable aerodynamics and striking designs. IONIQ will be showcased to the world at its premiere to be held on January 14, 2016, in Seoul, Korea.
The All-new Elantra came out shining owing to its fluidic designs at the GOOD DESIGN Awards. The Elantra represents a uniquely evolved design that is being adopted in several Hyundai compact cars.
Santa Cruz concept further commemorated the Korean carmaker by successfully utilizing its designing in the truck utility leading to another GOOD DESIGN Award. The truck was first introduced to the world at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It is a concept truck which is meticulously designed to cater the needs of those requiring efficiency and maneuverability both at the same time.
Lastly, Hyundai grabbed an award for its latest design philosophy moniker as Sculpture in Motion project, which earned its own GOOD DESIGN Award. It is an all new philosophy being followed by the Korean carmaker. The Sculpture in Motion here means wavy designs celebrating fluid motions as art and elucidating a relationship between movement and car design.
