KUALA LUMPUR: In just a few days we’ll enter the new year and with it will come a brand new set of cars. One automaker that in a way (via a teaser) has revealed its future plans for Malaysia is Hyundai.

    In this article, we’ll be concentrating on the upcoming Hyundai EV, the IONIQ 6. Unveiled in June 2022, the sleek, all-electric sedan showcases a ‘streamlined aesthetic’ which reminds us of the square-edged, Ioniq 5.

    Compared to the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 is a bigger car with dimensions reading - 4,855 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height. The wheelbase stretches to 2,950 mm. The former measures 4,635 mm, 1,890 mm, and 1,605 mm in length, width, and height, respectively.

    • The EV has a drag coefficient of 0.21, thus enabling an energy consumption rate of 13.9 kWh/100km
    • Its range goes up to 614 km
    • Its vehicle-to-load function allows the EV to charge other electric devices & servers as a backup power supply
    • It is built on the brand’s E-GMP platform which brings an 800 V architecture that supports 400 V charging
    • Its maximum charging rate is 305 kW, meaning a 10-80% charge will be achieved in 18 minutes
    • It is powered by either a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration
