Hyundai launched 11-seater Staria in Thailand
KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Thailand has launched the 11-seater Staria, making our northern neighbours the first market outside South Korea to receive the new MPV. Also, the Land of Smiles has a liking for the MPV segment with the Starex/H1 having a long and strong standing.

In Thailand, the Staria is offered in two trim options - S and SEL. The price range starts from 1,729,00 bath (RM 222,1000) and goes up to 1,999,000 bath (RM 256,800).
Hyundai Staria exterior
Compared to the old model, the Staria gets quite a few upgrades, especially on the styling front. The MPV features a futuristic space shuttle-inspired design with smart inclusions like -
- LED DRLs
- A large body-coloured grille with integrated LED headlights
- Smooth body sides
- Slim vertical taillights
- 17-inch alloy wheels (S trim), 18-inch for SE

The Staria’s cabin just like the exterior looks modem with its full-width air vent design, freestanding displays, and clustered controls. Both the S and SE trims benefit from - a 4.2-inch multi-info display, two LCD readouts, an 8-inch touchscreen, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The range-topping SLE variant gains a full 10.25-inch colour screen, 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, 360-degree camera, LED interior lighting, leather upholstery, and a Qi wireless smartphone charger.

Hyundai Staria engine details
The 11-seater Staria sources power from a new 2.2-litre four-cylinder R turbo diesel mill that pumps out a maximum power of 177 PS at 3,800 rpm along with a peak torque of 431 Nm from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. The power is sent to wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission unit that comes with paddle shifters and a push-button gear selector.

All the Hyundai Staria models come with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors on two seats, and stability control. The range-topping SEL trim, however, comes with a SmartSense suite of driver assistance systems that includes -
- Adaptive cruise control
- Autonomous emergency braking with an oncoming vehicle detection
- Blind spot monitoring with collision avoidance
- Lane centring assist
- Rear cross traffic alert
- Door opening warning
- Rear seat belt reminder
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
