We are done with the basic formality of discussing the car's essential details like price and variants. It's now time to highlight the most exciting bits of the IONIQ 5 EV, so let's get started -
Sliding centre console
Yes, it's not a typo. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 does come with a sliding centre console that can move back as much as 140 mm. However, the comfort level doesn't end here; instead, it has just started. The two front seats (driver and passenger) recline fully to an optimum angle and offer a weightless feeling to the occupant.
Hyundai offers power sliding (backward & forward up to 135 mm) and manually reclining seats for the rear passengers.
This was made possible via the EVs E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), which modularised parts and maximised the cabin space.
Eco-friendly interior
With the IONIQ 5, Hyundai seems to aim for overall sustainability. Not only is the IONIQ 5 a zero-emission car, but its cabin uses all eco-friendly and sustainably sourced materials. For instance, the seats are wrapped in eco-processed leather, dyed, and treated with flaxseed plant oil extracts.
The soft cushioning seen throughout the cabin comes from quality textiles derived from sustainable fibres like wool, sugar cane bio components, and PED plastic bottle-made fabric.
The paint used to coat the dashboard, steering wheel, switches, and door panels comes from rape flowers and corn.
10 to 80 percent charge in 18 minutes
The IONIQ 5 showcases ultra-fast charging with its 350 kW DC charger. As per the WLTP cycle, the EV can attain a 100 km range with only five minutes of charge. Here are its 800 V battery system charging times in long and standard range battery versions -

Also, the EV is good enough to charge any other electric device like a scooter, cycle, camping equipment, and even a standard EV.
Impressive standard kit
The IONIQ 5 is well-equipped with intelligent, high-tech features. Part of its standard kit is two 12.3-inch displays on the dashboard. The centre one is a touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It also gets dual-zone climate control, a smart key with remote start, automatic lights & wipers, wireless charging, a tyre pressure monitor, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Safety at its best
Safe Exit Alert's active door assist, surround-view camera, blind-spot view monitor, forward collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning, blind spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop & go. The EV further enhances safety with seven airbags.
