Hyundai Creta on its way to Malaysia, order books open

KUALA LUMPUR: As the popularity of SUVs continues to grow in Malaysia, local car enthusiasts can look forward to a new contender in the B-segment space in the form of the Hyundai Creta. This Korean SUV will go head-to-head with top performers like the Honda HR-V and Proton X50 and promises to offer an exciting package of impressive features and cutting-edge technology.

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM), the official distributor of Hyundai Cars in Malaysia, has opened the order books for the Creta along with revealing some preliminary information about it on the official booking website, which are as follows - 

• The SUV will be offered in a sole 1.5 Plus variant, powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering a maximum power of 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and a peak torque of 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm
• The engine comes paired with a Smartstream IVT continuously variable transmission sending power to the front wheels 

• Parts of the equipment kit are LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED combination tail lamps, a 10.25-inch TFT LCD cluster, an 8-inch infotainment unit, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a single-zone air-condition system, fabric upholstery, and four selectable drive modes 
• In terms of safety, the SUV proudly holds the 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating with the inclusion of six airbags and the Hyundai SmartSense suite, comprising Forward and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning and High Beam Assist
• Hyundai Creta Colour palette comprises five options - Galaxy Blue Pearl, Midnight Black Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Titan Gray Metallic, and Dragon Red Pearl
