Honda Malaysia opens booking for 2022 HR-V; few details revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Honda HR-V is now available nationwide for booking at the automaker's dealerships. Interested customers can go forward and make reservations.

As per Honda Malaysia's schedule, the all-new HR-V is set to enter the local lineup in the next two months. Once launched, it will be offered in four variants: S, E, V, and RS.

Compared to its previous-gen model, the new 2022 HR-V RS is a bit longer and shorter in height. Overall it measures 4,385 mm in length (39 mm+), 1,790 mm in width, and 1,590 mm in height (15 mm -)

The exterior design language seems attractive and in line with the taste of today's youth. Some of the major highlights on the outside include -

• New LED headlights with DRLs
• Front LED fog lamps
• LED sequential indicators
• LED taillamps
• 18-inch alloys

Open the gate, and you will be greeted by Honda's general level of comfort and cabin convenience, which assures a relaxing journey. The Civic-inspired dashboard and thicker & comfortable seats make the car look luxurious.

The range-topping HR-V RS model packs several advanced features like -

• Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Walk Away Close function
• Remote Engine Start
• Walk Away Lock function

On the mechanical front, while the entry-level level model is powered by a 1.5-litre ICE, the E & V variants get a 1.5L VTEC Turbo option and a 1.5-litre i-MMD hybrid mill powers the range-topping RS version. The latter delivers a maximum power output of 131 PS and a peak torque of 253 Nm and comes with three drive modes (ECON, Normal, and Sport) that can be switched according to the requirement.

Also, it is for the first time that Honda has equipped the HR-V with e:HEV technology that is powered by the intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system.

The safety profile of the new Honda is stronger than ever with the all-new HR-V RS version equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of the advanced driver assistance system. All of which help the automaker realise its global goal of zero traffic collision. Part of the Honda Sensing suite are the following gears -

• Auto High Beam
• Lead Car Departure Notification
• Road Departure Mitigation
• Lane Keep Assist System
• Lane Departure Warning
• Adaptive Cruise Control
• Forward Collision Warning
• Low-Speed Follow
• Collision Mitigation Braking System

2022 Honda HR-V price tag is not yet revealed; however, it is expected to range between RM 120,000 and RM 140,000.
