Honda Malaysia commences delivery of all-new HR-V

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only last month that Honda Malaysia launched the highly-awaited 2022 HR-V in the local market. Back then the automaker prompted a 12-month long waiting period citing the ongoing chip shortage. The automaker however has managed to commence HR-V’s deliveries, as it was yesterday that the company held a special delivery ceremony.

The official handover ceremony was held at MJN Motors Sdn. Bdh, in Cheras, Selangor wherein the all-new HR-V RS e:HEV was delivered to its first customer, Ms Nurul Hafida. Along with the car, Hafida was also treated with Honda Authorized Accessories, Honda Official Merchandise, and Ultra Glass Body Coating worth RM 5,700, all as a token of appreciation.

Mr Hironobu Yoshimura, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer was present at the handover ceremony and he expressed his joy saying, “The response we have received for the All-New HR-V has been overwhelming and we believe this new model will be sensational once again as it did in the past. Today, we are excited to deliver the All-New HR-V to the first owner, Ms Nurul Hafida. In addition to this momentous occasion, Honda Malaysia has delivered over 1,300 units of the All-New HR-V within one month of its launch. We would like to take this opportunity to convey our sincere gratitude to all our customers for their continuous support to the Honda brand.”

Ms Nurul Hafida who became the first customer of Honda HR-V in the country explained her buying decision by saying, “I did my research even before the official launch of the All-New HR-V in Malaysia. The exterior styling and looks caught my attention and that’s when I decided to book the model the moment it was opened for booking. I have been anticipating the delivery of my new car. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I was the first customer to receive the car. And what’s even more exciting is the additional surprise of receiving gifts from Honda! I am looking forward to taking my family out and about on my new ride.”

All-new 2022 Honda HR-V - A little recap

The Honda HR-V compact crossover is offered in Malaysia in four variant options, namely - 1.5L S, 1.5L E, 1.5L V, and 1.5L e:HEV RS. These variants are priced at RM 114,800, RM 129,800, RM 134,800, and RM 140,800 respectively (on-the-road without insurance). Each purchase includes a 5-year unlimited warranty as standard. The RS model comes with an 8-year unlimited mileage lithium-ion battery warranty. Also, for the first 100,000 km of the car’s life cycle, Honda is offering five free labour scheduled services.

As for the car’s powertrain configuration, it is for the first time the model comes with three engine options for the customers to choose. The entry-level S trim is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre inline-four unit generating 121hp and 145 Nm. The E and V variants are powered by a powerful 1.5-litre turbo mill making 181hp and 240 Nm of torque.

The range-topping RS model comes equipped with an e:HVE hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol unit (107hp) along with twin motors. Together the setup makes a maximum power output of 131 hp and 253 Nm of peak torque.

The best part about the new HR-V is its safety kit that includes a Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assist features, including autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assists, adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, lane centring assist, lead vehicle departure warning, automatic high beam, and lane watch blind-spot camera (V & RS trim).
