Here’s the limited edition Suzuki Jimny ‘Horizon’ edition

KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki has introduced a limited edition model of the Jimny called the Horizon in Europe. It is introduced as a gesture to bid farewell to the continent where the emission standards are getting harder and harder to survive.

Let us get to know the limited edition Suzuki Jimny Horizon in detail - 

No. of units: The Suzuki Jimny Horizon is available in limited quantities, 900 units to be exact

Price: The limited edition Jimny retails for EUR 32,340 (approx. RM164,379).

Engine: Powering the Jimny Horizon is the brand’s tried and tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that pumps out a maximum power output of 102 hp and a peak torque of 130 Nm. Though a bit small, the mill is adequate for its equally small build.

Transmission: The power is transmitted to the wheels via a manual transmission.

Chassis: The Jimny is built on a ladder frame like any other sports utility vehicle/

Variant: The limited edition Jimny is a bit altered version of the Jimny NZF in its Comfort variant.

Exterior features and colour: The Jimny Horizon is available in a signal ‘Medium Gray’ tone and is packed with several unique bits like -

• Jimny lettering on the sides
• Front grille with Suzuki lettering
• Spare wheel cover with Suzuki lettering
• Underbody guard on the front bumper
• Flexible mud flaps on the wheel arches and
• Adventure side skirt set
• Black steel wheels

Jimny’s future in Europe

Reportedly, Suzuki has been working on a hybrid and full-electric version of the Jimny to comply with Europe’s new stricter emission standards.

The next Suzuki car to follow Jimny’s fate is the Swift Sport which is scheduled for discontinuation in the UK in 2025.

In Malaysia, the Suzuki Jimny has two versions - regular and Rhino Edition; these are offered in 3-door configuration only with a 5-door Jimny model scheduled for launch at a later date. It was recently that Naza Eastern Motors teased the Jinmy 5-Door and opened its ordering books.
